About Alwan
Alwan is the online lending platform of a Philippine lending company. You apply, review your Loan Disclosure Statement, accept the loan agreement, receive the proceeds and repay — all in the Alwan app.
The lending company named in the footer of this website lends to you directly from its own funds. It reviews and decides your application, signs the loan agreement with you and receives your repayments. Alwan is not a marketplace and does not pass your application to other lenders.
The footer shows the lender’s registered corporate name, SEC registration number and Certificate of Authority number to operate as a lending company. The same details are printed on your Loan Disclosure Statement. Until they are published, Alwan does not offer loans.
No. The lender is a lending company supervised by the Securities and Exchange Commission, not a bank. Your Alwan wallet holds your loan proceeds until you cash them out; it is not a savings or deposit account and earns no interest.
Adults who can verify their identity with a valid Philippine government ID and who meet our lending policy. Verifying your identity does not by itself mean a loan will be approved.
No. Creating an account and verifying your identity are free.
Alwan Credit
Alwan Credit, a revolving credit line. You get a credit limit; you cash out part of it when you need to, repay, and can use it again. Statements follow your payday. Alwan no longer takes new applications for term loans; existing term loans keep their terms.
Simple interest, charged daily only on the principal you owe, from the day a cash-out is sent until it is repaid. It does not compound. The rate per month, the annual rate, every fee and the late charge are in the disclosure statement you accept, and each cash-out shows its own interest if repaid on the due date and its effective rate.
From what you can afford: your income, your existing payments and the product’s rules. The limit is set so that using all of it would still fit what you can repay. A person on our credit team decides the limit; a higher limit than the recommendation needs a second officer.
Approval is never automatic. An advisory scoring model summarises the information you gave us and your repayment history with Alwan into a recommendation. A member of the lender’s credit team decides. Read the Credit Assessment page for the information used and the information we never use.
It is the lender’s internal assessment, used only to help the credit team. It is not a credit bureau score and it does not guarantee approval or refusal. Your source of income (employee, business owner, freelancer and so on) does not change the score; what counts is how much income you can show and how much of it your payments would use.
The lender is required to register with the Credit Information Corporation and report credit data as the law requires. Until that registration and connection are in place, the lender does not obtain CIC credit reports about you and does not report to the CIC. We will update this answer and our Privacy Notice when that changes.
You are notified, and your account shows the main reasons. You can correct any information that was wrong and apply again, or file a complaint if you disagree.
Choose Cash out, enter the amount, and review the exact disclosure: what you receive, the fees, the statement it falls on, the due date, and the total if repaid on that date. Confirm with your PIN. The money is sent to an e-wallet or bank account in your own name that we have verified.
No. A character reference, if you choose to name one, is never a guarantor.
Statements and repayments
A statement is prepared a set number of days before your payday and is due on your payday. A cash-out made very close to a payday goes on the following statement. Before a statement exists, your account shows the date it will be prepared and its due date.
The statement balance, the minimum amount due, everything you owe, or any other amount. Paying the minimum keeps your account up to date; interest continues on the rest.
In the order stated in your disclosure statement, for example late charges, then fees, then interest, then principal. A payment counts once the payment provider confirms it. If you pay more than you owe, the extra is kept as a credit balance and refunded on request.
If the minimum is not paid by the due date, cash-out stops and the late charge in your disclosure applies to the amount past due. After a set number of days the account is temporarily locked, then locked. You can always pay, and the account becomes current again when the past-due amount is paid. Reminders always name the lender, and we never contact people in your phone’s contact list about what you owe.
Contact support in the app, or the complaints desk e-mail and hotline shown in the footer and on your Loan Disclosure Statement. We record your concern as a formal complaint, acknowledge it and tell you the outcome. If you are not satisfied, you may bring your complaint to the Securities and Exchange Commission, which supervises lending companies.
In the app, choose one of your verified payout accounts and the amount. Cash-out goes only to accounts that were verified with your loan application.
